Blue Jean Baby

I was invited to a concert at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. We went to see Chris Young, who is a country music singer. I thought I'd be cute and dress the part! Plus we had a blast!

This top is long enough to double as a dress for warmer weather and this outfit could be worn without jeans.
One of the newest additions to my wardrobe is this racer back jean vest. The vest is Vanilla Star and was purchased at Plato's Closet for about $5.

I'm really looking forward to wearing this top and vest combo more this summer!

The top can also be worn as a dress, it's One Clothing bought at a Ross Dress for Less in Naples, Florida for around $10. I've worn it for many different occasions, including a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert last summer!

These tan embroidered womens cowboy boots are Wanted which were purchased for $1 at a garage sale. They are so fun and I always get lots of compliments when I wear them!

Maxi'ng It Out!

So, over here in Michigan it's freezing and we have a ton of snow. I am not winter's biggest fan. I can't stop daydreaming of the days I can frolic in the sunshine once again.... making this store display helped me cope a little better :)

I did a display at work the other day, my 2nd favorite part about working at Plato's Closet. First being the sweet clothes I get like 24/7 that are so inexpensive. My closet is overflowing these days!

Dress on the far left is Xhilaration for $12, dress in the middle is Love Culture for $14, and dress on the right is American Rag for $16.

We're starting to put out our summer clothes just in time for Spring Break  This includes many many maxi dresses, which I absolutely adore. I was inspired by the middle dress in particular and chose my display theme to be centered around it. I really love the color blocking, I will more than likely buy this dress later in the week.

The green canvas and wood wedge sandals at the top are Vincci for $14, underneath , the clutch purse  is $12 and both pair of earrings are $5 each.

The necklace paired with the dress on the left is $7 and the hemp necklace with the dress on the right is $4, the wooden elephant necklace is $6. (Which can be seen much better in the picture above this one.)

I really love how well this $5 necklace looks with the color blocking on this dress, they're a match made in heaven!

On the left, the brown strappy heels are Forever 21 for $14, the top wood bracelet is $4 and the bottom magenta/aqua wood bracelet is $3.

On the right, the top pair of turquoise braided sandals are Mossimo for $9, and the bottom brown pair are also Mossimo for $7.

I really feel like the inner fashionista can not go wrong with second hand. If you love clothes and want to save money while still looking fabulous, thrift shopping is the way to go!

3 Piece Suits You

I love shopping just as much as the next girl, or a smidgen more :) I absolutely love love love thrift shopping though!

Sometimes when I'm shopping for myself I get distracted by super cute clothes and the super great deals.
I put outfits together in my head and sometimes even on the clothing rack. My favorite part is when a complete stranger will come and take the outfit, I nonchalantly put together, to try on :)

Here's a little 3 piece number I put together on an end cap at Goodwill. It's a very trendy, casual and comfortable look. The jean jacket is GAP for $4.99 and the striped maxi dress was just $3.99.

I found these suede brown Joan & David saddle shoes for only $5.99, they go quite well with the look.

In 3 easy pieces you have a complete outfit and you're ready to step out. Add some accessories like jewelry or a purse and to really let your personality shine!
